Magic Water. Immunity for Your Chicks (& Chickens).

Making a batch of magic water is the first thing we do when we’re preparing for new chicks around the ranch. It’s fantastic to support their immune system and boost their electrolytes. There are premade mixes at the store for electrolytes but we prefer to keep things as natural as possible on the farm.

We don’t always use it just for the chicks though – we use magic water when needed without big chickens too!

• Garlic is antibacterial, antiviral, and a parasite preventative (& treatment)
• ACV is great for their immune system and gut health. It also helps with energy!
• Honey is excellent for increasing their blood sugar (energy!) and it’s full of benefits for all of their body systems to stay healthy.
• Pure Sea Salt. Pure salt helps absorption of water and provides lots of minerals! We recommend crucialfour or jacobsensaltco.
• Oregano* I don’t typically put oregano in every batch. Instead I use it when there’s a sick chick or when we’re doing a round of magic water for our big flock. It’s powerful in antioxidants and antimicrobial properties.

Magic Water Recipe

• 1/2 gallon filtered water
• Magic Water
• 1/2 gallon filtered water
• 1 large head of garlic chopped
• 2 Tbsp raw honey
• 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
• 1/2 tsp pure sea salt
• 2 tsp oregano leaves*
• Warm to combine.
• Let cool before offering to chicks.

We use this for the first two weeks of their lives and as needed from there!
